MEDIUMS USED TO FIND HOST AGENCY Host agencies play an important role for travel advisors, especially independent contractors and smaller organiza- tions by providing resources such as marketing, training, back-end technology, payment processing, and booking platforms. But how does an advisor decide which host agency to affiliate with? Most advisors said that they base their decisions upon referrals from those in the industry (47%), the host agen- cy’s website (30%) or trade media (8%). With the rise of digital presence in the last few years, web searches (8%) and social media (7%) have also begun to play a key role in making this decision.
