It is never too soon to start pitching a land tour to
a client.
More than one in two advisors said that they book
land tours for their clients over six months in advance.
Three out of 10 advisors said that they book the tours
between 3 to 6 months before travel. These numbers
also reflect the trends from the TMR Luxury Travel
Outlook in which nearly 7 out of 10 advisors said that
they book their trips more than six months in advance.
The advance bookings could be due to a number
of reasons, starting with the high air-ticket prices—
fares for domestic flights in 2023 were 8% higher
compared to 2022 and 12% higher than in 2019

.
Another factor is the popularity of certain destina-
tions, which reduces inventory availability during
peak season, making a short booking window almost
impossible.
Advisors said that travelers willing to book in a short
window are premium clients, willing to afford higher
prices for a vacation suiting their schedule.
