Dear Travel Advisor,
The team at TMR is excited to launch the next in our series of research
reports aimed at the most important part of the travel industry — the
travel trade.
On the following pages, you’ll find our next Expedition Cruise Outlook for
2024, an inside look at the trends driving one of the big growth areas of
not just the cruise industry, but the whole travel industry, too. Just like our
previous reports, this Outlook is designed to help you build your business, to
guide advisors into this segment, and to showcase to the rest of the industry
why advisors are so important.
While there’s a lot of information on the following pages, and a lot for
advisors to take in order to gain success in the segment, there’s also a lot of
opportunity. We found that more than half (53%) of travel advisors actively
sell expedition cruises, with 40% making three or more bookings annually.
And these cruises are becoming a significant part of their business,
contributing up to 10% of annual gross sales for nearly 80% of advisors.
Notably, six out of 10 advisors anticipate a double-digit growth in their
expedition cruise sales in 2024, indicating a robust and expanding market.
