ADVISOR TRAINING: PREFERENCE BY FORMATS
With new cruise lines coming in and new products
being offered to sell to clients along with new
technology being introduced, being a travel advisor
today means being on top of your game.
The training then needs to be adequate as well.
While FAM trips always remain the best way to
share with an advisor the experience that a particular
cruise/cruise line offers, the last few years have
warmed up the audience to virtual training as well.
Logging in from the computer at home has the
advantage of not shutting shop while on an off-site
training program.
One advisor said, “I will be willing to participate
in more training formats but I live in the center of
California, and I do not hear about a lot of vendor
training in this region. Plus, since a lot of us are
home based agents with other jobs, it’s hard to
attend 1-2 day training sessions during the week.”
Advisors also like tradeshows where they can meet
multiple vendors within a short period, versus
connecting with the same vendor for 2-3 days.
