The Independent Contractors represented a large
pool of the travel advisor community who partic-
ipated in the survey, at 63%. The share of retail
agencies continues to dwindle.
The percentage of advisors describing themselves
as the owners of their business is also steadily
increasing. Almost one in four contractors call
themselves owners.
The push towards entrepreneurship is a signifi-
cant trend that needs to be noted, especially when
it comes to addressing the training needs and
community support that those younger in the
industry will require to make this a thriving envi-
ronment for all.
