ADVISOR TRAINING: PREFERENCE BY FORMATS After two years of conducting business online, there’s a natural desire for offline, in-person contact. FAMs (88%) continue to be the in-de- mand training format with in-person conferences / tradeshows as the second most sought after (59%). Advisors also felt that regular training modules, online and offline, by different cruise compa- nies help distinguish the various river cruise companies. As one advisor nicely summarized, “They are not all the same, nor do they offer the same inclusions, style of travel, shipboard amenities, etc.” Another advisor said, “ASTA Global River Cruise Expo 2022 was fantastic in terms of education, supplier engagement, etc. Will attend again in a few years if it is in a different destination. Of all the cruise lines, AmaWaterways really seems to proactively engage with TAs.” Offsite training is popular, though advisors are divided on the lengths that they prefer. Longer off-site trainings are the least popular. 38 | CHART 23 TRAINING NEEDS Fam trip Virtual training In-person conference or tradeshow One-day offsite training 2-3 days offsite training 4+ days offsite training 88% 67% 59% 38% 23% 15%
