Mandarin Oriental, Miami will close on May 31, 2025, as the hotel company prepares to develop a new Miami hotel and residences.
The Brickell neighborhood property, near South Beach, first opened in 2000 and became known for its top-notch dining and spa experiences. The closing will make way for a new iteration of the hotel, which will open in 2030.
“For 25 years, Mandarin Oriental, Miami has been a beloved part of this vibrant city. We are deeply grateful to our guests, colleagues, and the Miami community for their loyalty and support,” said Flavia Daudan-Caponi, general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Miami and area vice president of operations. “As we close this chapter, we look forward to celebrating our legacy and welcoming everyone to experience a haven of craftsmanship and culture for one last time.”
Mandarin Oriental, Miami will celebrate 25 years in business with monthly programming up until its final day in May. The hotel will host events for Art Week Miami in December, Chinese New Year in January, Valentine’s Day in February, and Women’s History Month in March.
The farewell events will also celebrate Miami culture and the legacy of Mandarin Oriental, Miami. In April, there will be special culinary offerings, and in May, a grand closing gala with live performances and a retrospective exhibit.
In five years’ time, the entirely new Mandarin Oriental, Miami and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will feature a North Tower and a South Tower. The North Tower will house Mandarin Oriental’s new North American flagship 121-key hotel, including 34 luxurious suites, a signature Spa at Mandarin Oriental, and multiple fine dining and al fresco restaurants. It will also have 66 private residences and 28 hotel residences, while The South Tower will have 228 residences.
