American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines—all members of the Oneworld alliance—will soon all operate out of Terminal 8 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The move will allow travelers to easily connect on codeshare flights across the three carriers and access Oneworld lounges—primarily the American Airlines Admirals Club and the Greenwich Lounge above Gate 12—without having to leave the terminal. They’ll also be able to use shared Oneworld ticket counters and kiosks.
Alaska and Hawaiian are expected to fully join American in Terminal 8 by October. Hawaiian already began operating its Honolulu (HNL) service out of Terminal 8 as of today.
In the future, Terminal 8, like the rest of JFK International, will be getting a facelift as part of the airport’s $19 billion redevelopment plan. The new Terminal 8 will include 60 new shopping and restaurant offerings, American said.
