Margaritaville is expanding its empire of restaurants, all-inclusive resorts, hotels, and vacation clubs, to include an upscale boutique select-service hotel brand.
COMPASS by Margaritaville Hotels and Resorts will be an “economically efficient select-service model that connects travelers with the original lifestyle brand in a personalized, welcoming boutique hotel setting,” a company spokesperson said.
The COMPASS prototype will be five stories high with 131 guestrooms covering a total of 83,000 square feet, while incorporating Margaritaville’s “casual-luxe” design.
Properties will feature an open-concept living lounge; a signature Margaritaville-designed bar and grill concept; indoor space; and an outdoor deck and patio area with fire pits, TVs, water features or a free form pool (in warm weather markets). Guestrooms will be modern with nature-inspired design, featuring oversized bathrooms with rainfall showers, and smart TVs for streaming video and music.
Complimentary amenities will include: hot and cold drinks and light snacks at a welcome cabana; a daily signature cocktail happy hour; access to laptops; and high-speed WiFi. An American breakfast buffet is included in the guest’s rate – aimed at driving loyalty while limiting operations costs.
The first COMPASS is being built on Anna Maria Sound in Florida, adjacent to Minto Communities’ existing One Particular Harbour marina and luxury condo development. In addition, “multiple additional projects are under consideration with development groups in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic,” according to Margaritaville, with growth targeted in city-center urban locations, near regional convention centers, college towns and smaller destination resort locations at beaches, lakes and mountains.
