W Bellevue, the first new-build W Hotel in North America in seven years, opened last week in Washington State’s technology hub.
Located on the outskirts of Lake Washington, the property features cabin-like architecture with luxury touches.
The lobby’s ceiling is lined with exposed A-frame beams, while its sofas and lounge chairs are modeled after vintage ’70s lake house furniture.
Décor in the hotel’s 245 rooms is inspired by the city’s docks and ferries, with accents like inflatable tufted headboards, side table lights that mimic dock lamps and floor-to-ceiling glass showers in the center of each room.
The hotel’s 2,300-square-foot, two-bedroom signature Extreme WOW suite offers a double-door entry, two king beds, an in-room pool and poker table.
W Bellevue boasts two restaurants led by James Beard Award-winning chef, Jason Wilson. There’s the Lakehouse, which showcases a Northwest farmhouse concept, and Civility & Unrest, a speakeasy-inspired cocktail lounge.
Rounding out the amenities are an open-air porch, library, fitness center and 10,000-square-feet of meeting and events space.
Bellevue has become a technology hub in recent years, with companies such as T-Mobile and Expedia opening headquarters there. It’s a short distance from Seattle, and just eight miles from Redmond, home of Microsoft.
Since acquiring the luxury lifestyle brand with its purchase of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International plans to expand W Hotels with 25 hotels opening by 2020.
