Six Senses, an IHG Hotels & Resorts brand, will open a new resort, spa, and residential community spanning three South Carolina islands in 2026.
The 460-acre Six Senses South Carolina Islands, an eco-conscious and wellness-focused project, will be on Hilton Head Island, Daufuskie Island and Bay Point Island.
“We have the right elements and energy in place to marry these incredible coastal landscapes with a wellness and sustainability formula that rewilds people back to a connection with nature, each other, and ultimately themselves,” said Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs.
Hilton Head Island
Six Senses will open a resort and residences set upon the backdrop of this small town with white sand beaches, tidal creeks, and protected wildlife. The property will include a bespoke restaurant, retail outlet, and embarkation point for hybrid yacht or electric boat adventures.
Daufuskie Island
On Daufuskie Island, Six Senses is planning cottages along the beachfront and forest, as well as a limited number of guest rooms and suites, which will all have access to resort amenities. There will be an all-day restaurant, a special eatery, beach club with watersports, pool grill, and pop-up programming, including wellness sessions at the Six Senses Spa.
Bay Point Island
With a limited number available for sale in 2024, the residences on Bay Point Island are villas with state-of-the-art waste management, renewable energy, reverse-osmosis water supply, and helical piling infrastructure. The villas are also self-contained, category-5 hurricane-resilient, and biophilic.
