Six Senses Hits the Road to Woo U.S. Travel Agents
Six Senses used its first-ever “full-on” U.S. roadshow to announce its next property will open in the Seychelles this summer, CEO Neil Jacobs told a standing-room audience of travel advisors last night in New York. The group opened last summer in Portugal’s Douro Valley and in September at Qing Cheng Mountain in China, outside of Chengdu. The group has changed its approach under Jacobs, a former Four Seasons and Starwood Capital executive, from rustic Robinson Crusoe style luxury to a more contemporary design-led approach. It is using the events to showcase its resorts, many of which have been fully renovated in the past three years. The tour started in Atlanta and now travels to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Denver.
