Two Luxury Resorts in St. Barths Set Reopening Dates

Two Luxury Resorts in St. Barths Set Reopening Dates

Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa

After months of renovations, two of St. Barths premier luxury properties are readying to reopen their doors in the coming months. Both Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa and the Oetker Collection’s Eden Rock St. Barths had closed last September after extensive damage from Hurricane Irma.

Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa, located on a nature reserve on the northeastern side of the island, will completely reopen with full spa, restaurant and hotel services on Oct.28.

The resort will relaunch with advancements to its holistic spa, including the addition of hot and cold baths, sauna and soothing hammam, and a tea salon.

The main restaurant, Aux Amis, will also introduce a new concept that celebrates French fine dining in a casual, island-inspired setting. Its expanded and extensive wine list, with a by-the-glass selection, complements a new menu featuring fresh and imaginative dishes such as mahi-mahi with dugléré sauce and crushed potatoes, and Caribbean chocolate soufflé for dessert.

Other new offerings for guests include the creation of a late-night rooftop bar featuring a DJ or live music Friday and Saturday nights; a beach grill for all-day light fare; and water sports, such as swimming with the turtles in the nature’s reserve, and boat outings.

The hotel also reimagined select adjoining rooms to accommodate larger families and groups, which can be transformed into a one-, two- or three-bedroom suite.

Prior to that, two new oceanfront luxury villas, with six-bedrooms, spacious living areas, gourmet kitchen and lap pool, will open on June 1.

St. Barths’ renowned Eden Rock, situated on a rocky promontory overlooking the turquoise waters of St. Jean Bay, will reopen on Dec. 22. Its 34 rooms and suites have been renovated. Two suites with pools have been added, as well, and another three new suites on the very top of the rock will be revealed in 2019.

The new Rémy Room and Bar is named after Eden Rock’s initial owner, dating back to the 1950s; a casual beach bar was also added, plus a new sun deck with shaded loungers.

The property will start taking reservations on May 31, though its rental villas reopened this winter.
