Karisma Hotels & Resorts is elevating the level of luxury in Mexico with its new over-the-water bungalows—the first in the country.

The 30 bungalows, called palafitos, will debut Sept. 1 at the adults-only El Dorado Maroma resort in Riviera Maya.

Each bungalow boasts glass-bottom floors, private infinity pools, outdoor showers, indoor Jacuzzis and oversize decks with lounge chairs to take in the view. Guests staying at the palafitos get special services as well, including 24-hour room service, exclusive beach beds, customized beach picnics and on-demand butler service. The bungalows overlook Maroma Beach, which was voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the world by the Travel Channel.

A spokesperson for Karisma told TMR the company looks forward to offer brides and grooms, newlyweds and couples in love a new standard in luxury and romance.

In addition, the Overwater Ocean Grill & Wine Bar offers views of the Caribbean Sea and a glass-floor private dining room. Guests staying in the palafitos will have the Gourmet Inclusive Experience, which includes gourmet cuisine, private butler service, sommeliers and 24-hour room service.

The Naay Overwater Spa will have four suites and treatments based on Mayan herbal practices. Guests will have the option of indoor or outdoor treatments.

Rates start at $665 per adult, per night. Karisma Hotels & Resorts pay a 21% commission on all bookings.
