Riviera Travel welcomed the arrival of its newest river cruise ship, the Riviera Rose, which sails the Douro River in Portugal. The 114-passenger ship is the first to deliver Riviera Travel’s new split-level design.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests onboard our new Riviera Rose, offering an exceptional river cruise experience along the Douro,” said Stuart Milan, president of North America for Riviera Travel. “As the newest ship to join our feet, Riviera Rose represents an exciting new chapter for Riviera Travel, as we introduce contemporary new design elements and signature experiences that underscore our commitment to providing guests with memorable journeys through Europe’s most iconic waterways.”

The vessel’s split-level design creates an airier atmosphere for guests, with skylights spanning the ceiling to provide lots of natural light. It features 57 cabins spread across three decks, all featuring convertible double-to-twin beds, a bathroom with rain shower, a desk and chair, flatscreen TV, a coffee machine, and tea kettle. Standard cabins start at 172 square feet, while balcony suites offer 258-square-feet of space.
The onboard restaurant is large enough to accommodate all guests in one sitting and serves breakfast, lunch, and a three-course dinner that features regional specialties inspired by the Douro Valley.
The sundeck features a small pool, plenty of lounge chairs, and the Sky Lounge, which offers casual al fresco dining and a full bar.
Riviera Rose sails the line’s Highlights of the Douro Valley & Salamanca River itinerary, with optional Lisbon extension.
