Princess Cruises, which typically operates seasonal cruises out of Galveston from November to March, has canceled all sailings scheduled from March 2026 to March 2027. The cruises – 15 in total – were scheduled onboard Majestic Princess, which will be redeployed elsewhere, according to Seatrade Cruise News.
Galveston is the fourth busiest cruise port in North America and has been growing in popularity every year. Princess said the move away from Galveston was part of its broader global fleet deployment strategy.
“Princess Cruises has made the difficult decision to cancel all sailings aboard Majestic Princess from Galveston… as part of our broader global fleet deployment strategy. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause our guests and appreciate their understanding as we work to enhance our global cruise offerings,” the line said in a statement.
All affected guests have been provided a full refund and Princess is assisting them with alternative cruise options, including other sailings from Galveston and a variety of Caribbean itineraries.
Princess will continued with its planned Galveston departures onboard Regal Princess from fall 2025 through mid-March 2026. The 2026/27 season would have been the line’s fourth season sailing from Galveston.
