MSC Unveils Details of Wellness Experience
by Daniel McCarthyMSC Cruise’s new wellness experience, which was announced at the New York Times Travel Show in January, will begin sailing in April 2017, MSC said on Thursday.
MSC has partnered with fitness company Technogym on the new program, which will provide guests with “the first completely personalized, 360° wellness experience at sea,” said MSC CEO Gianni Onorato.
Guests will be given a pre-cruise wellness questionnaire, followed by a sit-down with a MSC Master Trainer onboard. Each guest’s cruise will be customized with shore excursions, gym classes, and food options to meet their goals.
Wellness program staterooms will include mats and Technogym wellness bags, as well as sports clothing and towels. Guests will also have access to Technogym’s mywellness app, exclusive to MSC, which will track users’ activity and assign them a daily target.
Booking for the wellness experience is now open for sailings on the MSC Seaside, with prices starting at $929 per person. Prices for the rest of the fleet will be available when booking opens for MSC Cruises’ summer 2017 sailings in the coming weeks.
MSC isn’t the only cruise line getting in on the wellness trend. Silversea said in January it was would sail a new lineup of more than a dozen wellness-themed itineraries over the next two years.
