MSC Cruises plans to give cruisers the time of their lives when it brings “Dirty Dancing in Concert” to life onboard MSC World America. The show, which brings the beloved 1987 movie to the big stage with live singers, dancers, and musicians, will be one of several new entertainment options onboard the second World Class ship when it debuts in Miami this April.
The 90-minute show will feature singers belting out classing songs in-sync with the movie and will culminate in a finale where guests will dance in the aisles and sing along in a Dirty Dancing-themed after-party.
“Our headline entertainment experiences, ‘Dirty Dancing in Concert’ in the World Theatre and Queen Symphonic in the Panorama Lounge, will be unlike anything previously seen on our ships, resonating with both American and international audiences,” said Steve Leathan, vice president of entertainment at MSC Cruises.
“These are just the beginning of our extensive entertainment options, which include an adults-only Comedy Club, authentic Dueling Pianos, and interactive family game shows,” he added.
Each of MSC World America’s seven-night Caribbean cruises will provide multiple chances to see “Dirty Dancing in Concert” including a matinee on sea days.
In addition to “Dirty Dancing in Concert,” guests can enjoy: Odyssey, an acrobatic spectacle inspired by Home’s Odyssey; and Momentous, a larger-than-life illusion show created in collaboration with Twins FX, a company behind the special effects on the musical “Back to the Future,” as well as “Doctor Who,” “The Mummy,” and others. A fourth show on the mainstage will be “Hall of Fame,” a concert-style show featuring the iconic songs of several pop legends.
Guests will also find entertainment in the aft Panorama Lounge including “Queen Symphonic,” showcasing a blend of Queen’s greatest hits and “Cinesonic,” which features a concert-style show highlighting iconic movie songs and cinematic scores.
