James Rodriguez, the once future-former president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages, will no longer depart the company at the end of 2024, according to a report from Seatrade.
Rodriguez announced in October that he planned to leave Atlas to pursue other opportunities. However, he has since decided to stay on as the company’s top executive. Rodriguez joined Atlas in 2022 after the company’s ownership, Mystic Invest Holding, parted ways with its founding executive team.
During Rodriguez’s tenure, Atlas Ocean Voyages has seen notable growth, including the introduction of new Epicurean and Cultural Expedition products aimed at filling the gaps between Antarctic and polar seasons. According to Seatrade, Rodriguez’s decision to stay was influenced by the company’s growing momentum over the past year.
Atlas Ocean Voyages is owned by Mystic Invest Holding, a Portugal-based, family-owned financial holding company with a diverse portfolio of travel brands. In addition to Atlas, Mystic’s holdings include several cruise brands specific to Portugal, such as DouroAzul, Nicko Cruises, and Mystic Cruises.
