Hear Kids Sing an 80s Inspired Power Ballad About Virgin Voyages’ Adults-Only Policy

Hear Kids Sing an 80s Inspired Power Ballad About Virgin Voyages’ Adults-Only Policy

Virgin Voyages is holding a last-minute webinar on Wave Season incentives.

Virgin Voyages this week released its newest marketing video, focusing on those, forgotten, left-behind voices—the children. Virgin, which famously launched as an adults-only cruise line, is highlighting that policy in the new marketing video, which debuted on Virgin’s social channels.

“How could you leave us kids behind?” the kids sing. “Parents are going on a cruise without us kids, and we know whose fault this is.”

According to Virgin, the campaign was inspired by Richard Branson’s grandchildren. Branson, Virgin’s founder, wrote about getting campaigned by his grandchildren about the policy in his Virgin blog. Despite how much the petitioning swayed him, Branson wrote that Virgin Voyages will remain adults-only.

“I was recently onboard Virgin Voyages for our second ship Valiant Lady’s MerMaiden sailing from Barcelona around the Mediterranean. I spoke to so many parents who said it was just wonderful to be able to take some time out to recharge and remember what it feels like to be just themselves again,” Branson writes.

“One remarked on how lovely it was to rediscover the romance in their relationship – and another said it was nice to be able to have a drink, let your hair down and not worry about looking after the little ones with a hangover.”

Virgin Voyages most recently announced that its fourth ship will be called Brilliant Lady and will be a sister ship to Scarlet Lady, Resilient Lady, and Valiant Lady.

According to the announcement, Virgin “sought out a name that exemplifies our brand’s values and ethos… As our goal has always been to create a bright and radiant experience for our Sailors – much like the sparkling seas Brilliant Lady will sail on – it was only appropriate that our fourth ship name reflect that.”

Brilliant Lady’s mermaid, homeport, and itineraries will be announced at a later date.
