Norwegian Cruise Line’s updated travel agent education platform, Norwegian Cruise Line University, is now open for enrollment.
The new program, which is mobile and tablet-friendly, allows travel agents to earn four different levels of certification — Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. — depending on courses taken. More than 20 electives, including opportunities to earn destination expert status, are available on NCLU.
“We are thrilled to officially unveil this new program that will help our partners grow their business and better understand how Norwegian Cruise Line can deliver their clients their dream vacation experience,” said Camille Olivere, senior vice president of sales, for the cruise line.
Olivere told TMR in June that past graduates should not worry about their previous progress on the new NCLU, as Norwegian will translate their status to the new tiers. She also said that the new platform “will feel familiar with the site from the beginning, and the new NCLU will require less time than the previous version but still maintain the content-rich courses.”
Agents completing the course will enjoy two huge benefits. The first is that completing the course will earn them a total of 20 CLIA Certification Credits — five credits with each degree achieved. The second is that upon completion, agents will be able to book their own Norwegian Cruise at a 15-30 percent discount.
Norwegian is also offering a $500 and $250 Visa gift card for agents who enroll. From now through Dec. 31, agents will get one entry for every NCLU elective completed, and one bonus entry for completing the Core Course and Orientation Elective.
