JetBlue has unveiled the dates for the launch of its Amsterdam service, the third major European service the carrier is launching. The carrier on Tuesday said it will start flying to Amsterdam from New York on Aug. 29 and then from Boston on Sept. 20.

JetBlue is hoping to truly disrupt the market with its entrance—Robin Hayes, JetBlue CEO, said as part of the initial announcement that the New York to Amsterdam route is “long overdue for some competition” and that the addition can provide new options for consumers looking for better pricing, and better service.

Amsterdam will be JetBlue’s third international destination following London, which launched in 2021, and Paris, which is launching in June. JetBlue said that the recent news of a Dutch court striking down a potential cap on flights at Schiphol gave it the confidence to enter the market.

“Our formula of combining a customer-centric experience and everyday low fares isn’t something you find in Europe,” Hayes said. “We’re confident that customers, Amsterdam airport officials, and the Dutch government will be delighted by JetBlue when they see first-hand the positive impact we can make and we look forward to working together with Dutch officials to ensure long-term success in the market.”

The plan is for JetBlue to offer the flights daily on an Airbus A321 Long Range (LR) aircraft. That plane includes 24 Mint Suite seats, along with 114 core seats.
