Holland America Raises Prices In Specialty Restaurants
by Daniel McCarthyHolland America Line is upping the cost of eating in alternative restaurants across its fleet.
Prices in three alternative dining restaurants on all of its ships increased on August 1, as have the dining packages.
Dinner in the Pinnacle Grill now costs $35 per person (up from $29), a meal in Tamarind costs $25 per person (up from $20) and one in Canaletto costs $15 per person (up from $10).
The price of the Evening in the Pinnacle package rose to $62 from $52; the Signature Dining Package rose to $44 from $35; the Distinctive Dining Package to $65 from $50; and the Ultimate Dining Package to $119 (up from $104).
Holland America said it has not raised prices in a few years and its pricing still “falls below that of other cruise line alternative restaurants.” Norwegian Cruise Line, for example, charges $69 for its three-meal specialty dining packages and Royal Caribbean charges a minimum of $70; Carnival’s Steakhouse comes with a $35 cover charge.
