Carnival Cruise Line has added another ship to its growing list of transformed vessels as Carnival Freedom has returned from a multimillion-dollar renovation this week.

Freedom, the last of Carnival’s Conquest-class of ships that entered service in 2007, received a number of upgrades including the brand’s signature WaterWorks park that includes the AquaTunnel and Twister waterslides; the Bonsai Express sushi, quick-service restaurant; a nine-hole mini-golf course; a rebranded deli on Deck Nine; and some expanded retail space.

Those features are being added to a ship that already featured other signature offerings from Carnival, like Guy’s Burger Joint, the BlueIguana Tequila Bar, the Punchliner Comedy Club, and the Alchemy Bar.

Freedom will continue to depart out of its homeport in Galveston, Texas, sailing a schedule of six- and seven-day Caribbean cruises with calls in Jamaica, Mexico, Belize, and Grand Cayman.

Carnival is expected to finish its fleetwide, $2 billion enhancement program with a bow-to-stern refurbishment of Carnival Victory, set for 2020. Victory, which launched in 2000, will go into drydock for its $200 million refurbishment in Cadiz, Spain, on Mar. 18, 2020. Thirty-eight days later, the ship will emerge as Carnival Radiance, with new dining and entertainment options.
