Carnival Cruise Line’s Fascination will head to dry dock to undergo a multi-million dollar renovation that will see the addition of a number of new dining venues.
During the dry dock, which will take place from Feb. 4 to 17, 2018, Fascination will get the addition of Carnival staples such as Guy’s Burger Joint, the Alchemy Bar, BlueIguana Cantina Mexican eatery, Cherry on Top candy store, RedFrog Rum Bar, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, and Bonsai Sushi Express.
After the renovation, Fascination will head to San Juan, where it will homeport starting early next year. At the moment, the ship is still helping FEMA house relief workers in St. Croix, an island that is still recovering from last September’s hurricanes.
“We can’t wait for our guests to experience these exciting new features aboard Carnival Fascination when she returns to her year-round homeport of San Juan early next year,” Carnival President Christine Duffy said.
Carnival initially returned back to San Juan in November. The city was slammed by the storms and the island as a whole was left without power after Hurricane Maria. Carnival announced its return to the port in early October as shops and businesses around the port returned to normal operations and its cruise ship terminal announced itself ready to host passengers.
