Arajet, the flagship airline of the Dominican Republic, is launching new flights from the New York area to the Dominican Republic.
Starting June 16, Arajet will offer service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Las Américas Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ). The airline, which began operations in 2022, has hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The New York service is aimed at serving the area’s large Dominican diaspora.
The announcement was made this week at the Gregorio Luperón School in Washington Heights, a neighborhood with a significant Dominican population.
Currently, Arajet serves 25 destinations across 17 countries. From Santo Domingo, it offers flights to Aruba, St. Martin, Costa Rica, and Guatemala, while its Punta Cana service includes Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Toronto, and Montreal.
