Air Canada to Restore Service to Israel in June

Air Canada has returned to Trinidad & Tobago after five years.
As the month-long ceasefire in Gaza continues to hold, Air Canada has announced it will resume service to Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion International Airport in June.
Canada’s flag carrier will operate four weekly nonstop flights between Toronto and Tel Aviv starting on June 8, and will offer an additional direct weekly flight to and from Montreal beginning in August.
AC is the latest North American carrier to return to Tel Aviv in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war, which has raged since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.
For most of the 15 months since then, Israel’s flagship carrier El Al has held a monopoly on transatlantic flights, leading to skyrocketing fares.
United Airlines will be the first North American carrier to return, promising daily flights to Tel Aviv from its EWR hub starting March 15, with a second daily flight beginning March 29. UA offered the most flights to Israel of any U.S. carrier before the war.
Delta Air Lines says it will renew service to Tel Aviv from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on April 1.
American Airlines remains the only North American legacy carrier that has not announced when it plans to restart Israel service.
