United Airlines is giving Delta Air Lines and American Airlines loyalty program members the chance to get their status matched by United with a new promotion that the airline is rolling out over the next 90 days.
With its new “Status Match Challenge” promotion, United is allowing those Delta Medallion members and American Airlines AAdvantage members to fly with United MileagePlus Premier Gold status over the next 90 days.
United will match the loyalty level with different MileagePlus levels. Delta’s Silver members will get Premium Silver on United, Gold members will get Premier Gold, and Platinum members will get Premier Platinum; Gold members on America with get Premium Silver status, Platinum will get Premier Gold, and Platinum Pro will get Premier Platinum.
The promotion will only let travelers fly with that status on United for 90 days through Dec. 31, 2020, but the airline will let travelers keep the status for the remainder of the year if they’re able to reach a certain number of qualifying flights and points by the end of the 90-day period — Silver status can be maintained with four flights and 1,000 points; Gold with six flights and 2,000 points; and Platinum with 10 flights and 3,000 points.
Full details, and requests for the status match, can be found on the United website.
