Palace Resorts will no longer offer the “Cash is King” travel agent program, as of Dec. 31, 2019.
The Mexico-based resort operator said it is “working on developing a new and exciting incentive program that will provide increased value for travel agents, a more aggressive commission structure, and a more seamless redemption process,” in a statement to Travel Market Report.
The newly revamped incentive program is expected to roll out in early January 2020.
In a letter to travel partners, Palace Resorts Vice President of U.S. Field Sales Frank Corzo said it was placing the “Cash is King” program on hold “due to feedback we received from the travel agent community … so we can make improvements and provide the best service to our partners.”
Palace Resorts will honor all pending booking commissions, and asks that travel agents please register any reservations booked through Dec. 31, no later than Jan. 31, 2020. All pending payments will be processed in the upcoming weeks.
Palace Resorts’ portfolio consists of 10 oceanfront, all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and Jamaica.
