Accor Connects to Sabre GDS Via XML

Accor Hospitality became the first European hotel chain to connect with the Sabre GDS via Sabre Hospitality Solution’s Direct Connect XML booking platform.

As an additional benefit of DCX, Accor Hospitality upgraded its RT chain code to enable Sabre agents to obtain the most current rates and availability directly from the Accor Central Reservations System at the time of the shopping request. This simplifies the shopping process for travel agents and secures instantaneous updates of the Accor inventory.

London Agency Signs Up for Universal Desktop

Statesman Travel, a midsized independent travel management company based in London, renewed its long-term agreement with Travelport for use of the Galileo GDS.

The new agreement follows a competitive review of GDS providers. A central feature of the renewed pact is Statesman’s use of the new Travelport Universal Desktop slated for launch later this year, a development that joint managing director Mervyn Williamson called “exciting.”

The Travelport Universal Desktop will provide users with content from multiple sources, including other GDSs if commercial agreements can be achieved.
