Marriott Hotels Returns To Athens
Marriott International will bring its namesake hotel brand back to Athens, after being absent in the Mediterranean city for more than two years.
The Metropolitan Hotel Athens will be reflagged The Athens Marriott Hotel after undergoing a $15-million transformation. The 366-room property will open in 2018, featuring two contemporary restaurants, a chic rooftop bar, fitness facilities, a swimming pool and state-of-the-art meeting space.
In 2013, the Athens Ledra stopped operating as a Marriott after its contract wasn’t renewed.
