Marc Kavanagh, CEO and owner of Journey Connect, purchased tour operator Sceptre Tours from DH Enterprise and Associates, Inc., as it shifts to focus to technology and bundled packaging.
Journeys Connect—managed by DH Enterprise and Associates—is a business-to-business wholesale travel provider, offering group and specialty vacation packages to destinations throughout Europe.
Kavanagh plans to develop a travel agent portal for the Sceptre website, as well as introduce new products, with a focus on growing its golf, chauffer and group business to destinations in Europe. All products and technology will continue to be provided by Global Consolidated Services (GCS), of which DH Enterprise is the parent company.
“I am a firm believer in the B2B travel agent distribution system. Travel agents will be Sceptre’s life blood,” said Kavanagh, an industry veteran for 28 years.
Sceptre president Chris Accomando said that his “long friendship and business relationship” with Kavanagh makes the deal “like selling to a family member.” He’ll stay with the company in a senior role.
DH Enterprise and Associates, Inc. is owned by the Accomando family. It is also the parent company of Aer Lingus Vacation Store and Great Value Vacations.
