Contiki is expanding its Africa portfolio with the launch of three new trips in Africa. The company, which offers tours for 18- to 35-year-olds, is rolling out new itineraries is Kenya, Tanzania and Eswatini, and South Africa. Each one offers a classic safari experience “with added adrenaline and cultural immersion.”
“One of the standout features of these trips is that the entire group travels together in a single custom safari vehicle, which adds to the game viewing experience, helping travelers see over the long grass for full views,” said Kyle Junkuhn, operations manager in Africa for Contiki and a qualified Safari Guide. “More than that, it brings the unique Contiki vibe to the plains of Africa… Offering more trips at affordable prices to expensive destinations like East Africa will give more people the opportunity to experience the best wildlife viewing on the continent.”
The expansion follows a rise in demand for Africa-based travel among Contiki’s core audience. Year-over-year Tanzania trips are up 11.1% compared to 2024, and the company has seen a 46.2% increase in bookings to Kruger & Eswatini.
The three new itineraries are:
Kenya & Tanzania Adventure: The 11-day tour covers five national parks across the two East African countries including the Maasai Mara and Amboseli.
Kenya Adventure: Travelers on this six-day tour will explore three of Kenya’s most iconic national parks. Highlights include Big 5 game drives, mountain biking through nature and villages, white-water rafting, ziplining, a hot air balloon safari, and more.
Tanzania Adventure: This six-day trip ticks off the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. In addition to daily game drives, travelers can opt into treetop walks, cultural village visits, and a night safari.
Each trip includes a custom overland vehicle and premium campsites accommodations, where participants will fall asleep under the stars, with tents pre-assembled by the on-ground team, and all amenities taken care of. The trips are led by experienced Trip Managers who are also fully trained safari guides, alongside a dedicated driver and on-road chef for freshly-prepared meals.
In addition to the new East Africa trips, Contiki announced a new version of its popular Cape, Safari & Falls itinerary. The new trip “Cape Town, Kruger & Bushfire Festival” now features the Bushfire Festival – one of Africa’s most celebrated music events – combined with South Africa’s must-see highlights.
With the launch of these new trips, Contiki’s Africa portfolio now includes over 30 itineraries across the continent – from Egypt and Morocco to Namibia and multiple safari adventures.
