Allegiant Adds 22 New Routes, Three New Cities
In one of the largest expansions in its history, Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air is adding three destinations and 22 nonstop routes this spring and summer.
The ultra-budget airline will fly between Orlando, FL, and Evansville, IN, starting June 2, plus twice-weekly from Las Vegas to Sonoma, CA, and Albuquerque, NM, beginning May 19 and June 2, respectively.
The new nonstop routes will fly to Orlando-Sanford, Jacksonville and Destin-Fort Walton Beach in Florida; Myrtle Beach, SC; Los Angeles; New Orleans; Phoenix; and Austin, TX.
The expansion comes as Allegiant is under close supervision from the Federal Aviation Administration because of increased problems with its airplanes. Allegiant had 16 flight diversions and delays because of mechanical issues last summer.
