Seabourn Cruises’ first new ultra-luxury expedition ship will be called Seabourn Venture in an ode to the remote parts of the world that the line’s expedition and the Ventures by Seabourn excursion program explores.

The ship, which is set to launch in 2021, is one of two expedition sister-ships coming to Seabourn. The other is set to launch in May 2022. The ships will boast 132 oceanfront veranda suites and will be able to sail around the globe. There will also be two submarines on each ship, a fleet of kayaks, and 24 Zodiacs to allow guests to explore all angles of the region they’re visiting.

Both vessels will sail with Seabourn’s team of expedition leaders, which include wilderness experts, scientists, historians, and naturalists. Those experts will run the onboard Seabourn Conversations program.

“The name Seabourn Venture is an exciting step in the process of launching even more immersive voyages designed specifically for the expedition traveler who dares to go beyond the norm in terms of destinations and experiences they seek,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn.”

Venture is expected to sail the Arctic when it debuts in late summer 2021 and then a full summer season in Antarctica. Other details about hardware onboard both ships will be released soon.
