New Sandals Resort To Bring Swim-Up Villas To Barbados
by Jessica MontevagoSandals Resorts announced Tuesday it is accepting bookings for its new all-suite resort in Barbados, Sandals Royal Barbados, beginning Dec. 20.
The new, stand-alone resort, the second Sandals property on the island, was originally conceived as an expansion of the nearby Sandals Barbados. However, “we felt that expanding may compromise intimacy,” said Sandals Resorts chairman Gordon “Butch” Stewart. “We established a management team dedicated exclusively to Sandals Royal Barbados and designed the new resort to complement Sandals Barbados, where in Sandals’ style guests may ‘stay at one, but play at two.’ ”
The 222-room property will offer all concierge and butler-level suites, including the new Rondoval Suites—private circular swim-up villas with butler service—and beachfront infinity edge plunge pools or “sky pool” suites directly facing the Caribbean Sea. Other suite categories include Millionaire Butler and Swim-Up Suites.
Rondoval Butler Suites made their debut at the Sandals LaSource Grenada.
The resort also will have a full-service 13,000-square-foot spa, four bars and a 6,000-square-foot conference facility. Five restaurants will offer American, French, Chinese-Japanese Fusion, Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisines.
