Montage Hotels & Resorts will open the brand’s first property in the Caribbean with Montage Cay, a 48-acre private-island resort and residential community on The Abacos Islands in the Bahamas.
Scheduled to open in 2023, the project will see the rebranding and complete redevelopment of the private island of Matt Lowe’s Cay in The Abacos, re-emerging as Montage Cay, alongside the launch of The Residences at Montage Cay.
The private island boasts seven pristine beaches surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Sea of Abaco, and a 46-slip marina will be accommodating vessels up to 110 feet and will anchor the resort, giving guests access to an array of boating, fishing and water sports activities.
The 50-room, all-suite resort will feature light and airy ocean-view rooms with luxury outdoor amenities including plunge pools, outdoor showers, private gardens and lounge areas. It will also house a full-service Spa Montage with an extensive health and wellness program, fitness center, and Montage’s Paintbox Children’s Club.
An array of culinary experiences will range from all-day dining, a signature dinner-only restaurant, beach bar and grilles, and a spa café and juice bar.
The resort will offer indoor meeting space, as well as wedding and social-event lawn space with unobstructed views of the clear blue sea.
Montage Cay will join several additional resort properties in development from the luxury hospitality management company, including Montage Healdsburg in California, opening in November 2020, Montage Big Sky in Montanta, opening in 2021, and Montage La Quinta in California, opening in 2022.
The portfolio of hotels, resorts and residences includes: Montage Laguna Beach, Montage Deer Valley, Montage Kapalua Bay, Montage Palmetto Bluff, and Montage Los Cabos.
