New Hotel Streaming Service Launches

Addicted to Orange is the New Black? Now you can watch it in your hotel room.

Sonicast, a streaming service made specifically for the hospitality industry by Sonifi, launched Tuesday. It allows hotel guests to connect their phones to the hotel Wi-Fi, or sync their Netflix, Hulu, or HBO apps with the hotel room TV. They then can stream content from over 1,000 apps, compared to the dozen they can stream from a smart TV.

Powered by Chromecast, Sonicast has special security features for the hospitalty industry, so guests can only cast to the TV in their own rooms, for example, and their mobile devices disconnect automatically at checkout.
