IHG Interested in Small Deals with Boutique Brands, CEO Says
InterContinental Hotels Group plans to expand its portfolio this year with smaller deals, similar to its $430 million purchase of boutique brand Kimpton in 2014, CEO Richard Solomons told Reuters Monday.
“We’re quite likely to look at other deals, like a Kimpton-type deal, that can add value quickly,” he said, “rather than just adding a business because we want to be bigger.”
IHG operates more than 5,000 hotels under brands including Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and InterContinental.
