Delta Taps Gil West as Exec VP & COO

Delta Air Lines appointed Wayne Gilbert “Gil” West to executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective March 1. West will succeed Stephen E. Gorman who will retire after leading Delta’s operations divisions since 2007. West has been with Delta since 2008. His career prior to that includes leadership posts at Northwest and United airlines and the Boeing Co., among others.
