After four successful years hosting Travel MarketPlace East in Toronto for Canadian agents with its partner ACTA, Travel Market Report is expanding its meetings portfolio with its latest addition: Travel MarketPlace West in Vancouver to be held Mar. 1-2, 2018 at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver Hotel.
More than 250 agents are expected to attend the event, which will feature 30 educational sessions, 25 speakers, 50 exhibitors, and a unique opportunity to network with suppliers and fellow agents.
Seminars covering sales, marketing and more
The two-day conference agenda will deliver breakout seminars on a number of diverse topics aimed at helping travel agents increase their bottom line, including but not limited to “Social Media, Tips & Best Practices” from social media guru Ron Cates; “Cooking up Profits with Wine and Culinary Travel Bookings,” sponsored by Oceania Cruises; “Winning at Sales” moderated by Avoya Travel’s Scott Koepf; “Cross-Marketing with Local Businesses,” led by Marlin Travel’s Colleen Stephenson; and “Selling and Servicing the Special Needs Traveler,” moderated by CTIE’s Jim Smith.
Additional breakouts will focus on selling travel insurance, implementing marketing ideas on a shoestring budget, how to increase cruise sales, Facebook Live, luxury travel, group travel sales strategies and family travel, to name just a few.
Limited space, registration is open
Registration is now open for agents looking to take advantage of this two-day event. Space is limited, so event organizers recommend that interested agents act quickly. Click here for registration and here for more details on the program.
The addition of a Travel MarketPlace in Vancouver was a natural extension for TMR given the success of its Travel MarketPlace Toronto shows over the past four years.
This year’s Toronto show will be held May 22-23 at the Westin Harbour Castle. “The goal has always been to have two shows, and with a turnout of over 500 attendees last year for Travel MarketPlace Toronto East, the timing is ideal to introduce Travel MarketPlace Vancouver West. We are thrilled at the response we have received to this new addition!” said Anne Marie Moebes, Publisher of Travel Market Report.
ACTA President Wendy Paradis said she can speak for the organization when she says they are excited to be adding Vancouver to the Canadian conference schedule for 2018. “We are thrilled that the topics and speakers at Travel MarketPlace West are really resonating with the conference participants. We encourage everyone to join us at the industry conference of the year.”
