The much-anticipated Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique has just opened on the country’s nothern Pacific coast.
With 188 rooms, six dining concepts, dedicated kids and teens club, spa and fitness center, event spaces, multi-level pool, and local programming, the resort is poised to be a catch-all for luxury leisure travelers to this in-demand destination.
“This property marks the debut of the brand in Costa Rica and offers guests an unparalleled level of luxury and our signature Waldorf Astoria hospitality,” said Danny Hughes, president, America at Hilton. “We look forward to welcoming travelers from around the world to discover Costa Rica’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and natural beauty.”

Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique is located 25 minutes from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, nestled between the beach towns of Playa Del Coco and Playa Hermosa. It is the first hotel to open in the new luxury Punta Cacique complex.
The resort has 148 guest rooms and 40 suites, 22 of which have private plunge pools. The property is secluded yet accessible to the beaches and nearby village. Guests can expect a culturally immersive experience from the food and atmosphere to the spa and other activities.

The resort’s restaurants incorporate local ingredients from small-scale farmers and nearby plantations. Dining venues include La Finca, showcasing the region’s fresh seafood and grass-fed beef; Tico-Tica, an all-day eatery centered around an open kitchen; Buena Nota Bakery & Coffee Shop; Copo y Cono Ice Cream Shop; Vida Pool & Grill; and the Waldorf Astoria brand’s signature Peacock Alley Bar.
The property features a vibrant public space known as a Poblado that is home to some of its dining spaces and connects to a pathway, lush with waterfalls and cascading pools, leading to the Beach Lounge and Sunset Rooftop.

The spa uses traditional Costa Rican relaxation methods, including volcanic clay, cacao, native botanicals, Melipona honey, and spiritual herb cleansing. It offers 11 treatments rooms and plenty of pre- and post-treatment space in the lounges, saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzi. There’s also a fitness center, movement classes, and a salon.
Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique offers cultural experiences such as chocolate sculpting, farm tours, and wildlife excursions. Year-round, guests can also partake in swimming, paddleboarding, snorkeling, boating, and surfing.
