Hilton Honors Partners with Lyft

by Jessica Montevago  May 15, 2019
Hilton Honors Partners with Lyft

Members can link their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts to automatically earn points whenever they take a Lyft ride in the U.S. and select cities in Canada.

Hilton Honors announced Tuesday that it is teaming with rideshare company, Lyft, allowing its 89 million loyalty members to earn points on rides.

Members can link their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts at HiltonHonorsLyft.com to automatically earn points whenever they take a Lyft ride in the U.S. and select cities in Canada.

Hilton Honors members will earn three points per $1 spent on Lyft rides and two points per $1 on Lyft shared rides, for a total of up to $10,000 in Lyft spend per year.

Points can be redeemed on free stays with Hilton, as well as several other options like shopping on Amazon or experiences. Later this year, members will be able to redeem their points for Lyft credits, too.

Mark Weinstein, senior vice president and global head of customer engagement, loyalty and partnerships at Hilton, said, “We look forward to working with Lyft and finding even more ways to evolve the partnership, offering greater flexibility and more useful, relevant ways to engage with our members when they’re traveling and in their everyday lives at home.”

While the partnership is the first of its kind for the two companies, it is not the first between a rideshare provider and a hospitality company. Uber and Starwood Preferred Guest began offering Starpoints on rides in 2015 for qualifying members — the partnership ended in 2017.

Lyft also offers the opportunity to earn Delta SkyMiles on rides — riders can earn 1x Delta SkyMile per dollar spent on most rides, and 3x miles on rides to or from the airport, regardless of airline.
