Four Seasons Hotel New York Sets Reopening Date

After more than four years of closures, the Four Seasons Hotel New York will reopen in September.

The Four Seasons announced recently that the hotel will reopen in September (the exact date has yet to be revealed) after Ty Warner Hotels and Resorts, the company owned by Beanie Babies founder, and the Four Seasons agreed to construction costs and management fees.

The two groups had been mired in a dispute over those management fees since the hotel closed during the pandemic, with the NY Post reporting that Warner wanted to tie the fees to the hotel’s profitability instead of what the Four Seasons had assessed. The agreement apparently came after an agreement to convert some of the rooms into apartments, which would provide maintenance fees from new full-time residents.

The hotel is the second that Warner has announced reopening plans for recently, joining the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, which will reopen in the spring of 2025.

“For more than three decades, both iconic properties have hosted discerning travelers and locals alike, and Ty Warner’s team and Four Seasons look forward to welcoming guests back to these celebrated properties,” the Four Seasons said in a statement.

“The internationally renowned Four Seasons Hotel New York and Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara are currently undergoing enhancements and more details regarding reopening plans will be announced in the coming months.”

The property is one of two Four Seasons in Manhattan. The other, Four Seasons Hotel Downtown New York, has become one of the most awarded properties in the city, earning a spot on AAA’s Five Diamond List and being awarded Forbes’ Five-Star Hotel rating in 2018.
