The historic, 100-year-old Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina, is once again welcoming overnight guests, 10 weeks after Hurricane Helene devastated the area.
The hotel, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, had been closed since Sept. 29 and began a phased reopening over the past few weeks, including its spa, golf course, and sports complex in November.
As of Dec. 5, the hotel is fully open to overnight guests, including at the Sammons Wing, the last part of the property to reopen. The Omni Grove Park Inn is also operating most of its on-site programming, including its holiday schedule, though its annual National Gingerbread House Competition was modified due to the reopening timeline.
“It’s been so rewarding to see so many people from around the country come together to help rebuild our community over the last few months,” said Isabel Miller, director of marketing and communications at The Omni Grove Park Inn. “We’re beyond thankful to be welcoming visitors back to Asheville and returning to a bit of normalcy to celebrate the holidays the Omni Grove Park Inn way.”
Omni is still alerting guests that they “can expect some adjustments on property.” For now, that includes the on-site restaurant Vue 1913, which will not reopen until Dec. 19, in time for Christmas dining reservations.
