Uber is giving New York City travelers another option to get from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Manhattan and vice versa.
Starting this week, Uber is offering shuttle rides between LaGuardia and some of the city’s most popular transit hubs—Penn Station, Port Authority, and Grand Central Station. One shuttle will take users directly to Penn, while the other will take them to Port Authority and then to Grand Central.
The shuttles can fit 14 passengers each with one personal item and one piece of luggage. Each user will be able to book up to four seats each on the app between seven days to five minutes before departure, depending on availability. The option is just like any other option on the app.
The cost is $18 per person, which is far cheaper than a taxi or normal UberX ride, but more expensive than public transit options in the city like the $2.90 it costs to ride the 7-subway train. Travelers will have to either order another Uber, or find another way to get to their hotel or other location once they are dropped at Penn, Port Authority, or Grand Central.
Uber will run the shuttle each way starting at 5 a.m. each day and will wrap up service at 10:45 p.m.
