Porter Airlines has joined the TSA Pre-Check program, enabling its passengers to use expedited airport security screening at designated checkpoints when travelling from the U.S.
All members of Global Entry or the TSA Pre-Check Program are eligible for expedited screening that may allow passengers to keep on shoes, belts, and light outerwear, as well as leave laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on baggage.
Canadian citizens enrolled in NEXUS are also eligible, as are U.S. citizens or U.S. lawful permanent residents who are members of NEXUS or SENTRI. Complete enrollment and eligibility requirements for trusted traveler programs are available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
When making a reservation, passengers should provide their trusted traveler membership number or PASS ID, also referred to as a Known Traveler Number (KTN). The KTN may also be entered in a VIPorter frequent flyer profile, where it will be stored for future reservations made directly from individual profiles.
Passengers will know they can use TSA Pre-Check when the symbol is displayed on a boarding pass. In March 2018, 93 percent of TSA Pre-Check passengers waited less than five minutes to clear security.
Porter offers flights to 15 Canadian cities, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Fredericton, Sault Ste. Marie, Windsor, New York (Newark), Chicago (Midway), Boston and Washington (Dulles), and has seasonal flights to various other Canadian and U.S. cities.
