Florida Arrivals Rise In Q1
by Adam StumpfArrivals to the Sunshine State are up more than 6% compared to Q1 of 2015. Governor Rick Perry hopes to break the record number of visitors to his state for the year, which was set in 2015 at 105 million.
Q1 saw nearly 30 million visitors come to Florida and a record high 1.2 million Floridians employed in the tourism industry.
Fewer international tourists visited the state during this time, however, as the Canadian and Brazilian markets were affected by the strong dollar.
Visit Florida CEO Will Seccombe credits the increases to the strong marketing campaigns of groups like Visit Florida.
