Egyptian Officials: Russian Jet Wasn’t Bombed
The Russian passenger jet that crashed in Egypt in October wasn’t brought down by a bomb, says Egypt’s chief investigator. His preliminary report found no evidence of “illegal or terrorist act” in the crash.
The crash killed all 224 passengers on board, most of them Russian tourists, and caused several major airlines to reroute flights. Russia shut down all flights to Egypt after the Russian Security Service ruled that the plane was downed by a homeland explosive device on board.
