Viking is adding a third Nile river cruise ship called Viking Aton, expected to debut in Egypt in next year.
The ship will join its identical sister ship, Viking Osiris, which is set to launch later this year, along with Viking Ra on the Nile in September 2022, sailing Viking’s Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, a land-and-sea cruisetour that includes a three-night stay in Cairo before an eight-day roundtrip cruise on the Nile.
“Egypt remains a top destination for many of our guests who are inspired to discover the rich history and beauty of the region,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking. “We will always maintain our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that are focused on the destination. The addition of Viking Aton is a reflection of our continued investment in Egypt; we look forward to introducing the country’s cultural treasures to even more Viking guests in the future.”
The ship will sail 82 guests in 42 staterooms, all outside staterooms with river views including suites with two full-sized rooms and verandas.
Onboard, the ship will offer a pool and a sun sun deck with wraparound views, a lounge with floor-to-ceiling glass doors, and Viking’s Aquavit Terrace al fresco dining eatery.
